Do you buy older vintage and designer silk scarves?

Yes. We buy collections of vintage, designer and collectable silk scarves, including those with named maker labels and confirmed silk scarves where the maker may not be known. You don't need to identify or value them before contacting us.

What kind of scarves do you buy?

We buy collections of silk scarves. Your scarves could be vintage, designer, historic, souvenir scarves and more but importantly you should believe them to be silk and they should have a label confirming that they are silk. ​We're interested in the collection as a whole, so you don't need to identify or research every scarf before getting in touch.

What kind of scarves don't you buy?

We do not buy single scarves (we would expect a collection to contain three or more scarves). We do not buy artisanal, homemade or art project scarves. The only artisanal or art scarves we would consider are those by recognised artists. We also do not buy "new" scarves unless they are vintage or deadstock i.e. more than 20 years old. We also do not buy fast fashion or high street scarves, regardless of whether they are silk or not.

Do my scarves need to have labels?

Yes. Some scarves have clear maker and material composition labels, while others have no labels at all. We require either a maker label / maker signature on your scarf or a label confirming that your scarf is silk. If your scarves do not have either of these, we will not be able to consider them for purchase. We can obviously pay you more for fully labelled items.

What condition do my scarves need to be in?

We generally look for scarves in good, wearable condition. While we professionally clean all of the scarves we buy, and minor marks are not normally an issue, we cannot purchased heavily stained scarves or damaged scarves.

 

However, older or unusual scarves can sometimes still be of interest even if they show signs of age or wear. Tell us about any condition issues you've noticed when you get in touch.

Can I send my scarf to you for a valuation?

No. We are specialist buyers rather than a valuation or appraisal service and we don't provide valuations of single pieces.

If we're interested in buying your collection, we'll assess all of the scarves and make a fair offer for the collection as a whole.

Can I send my scarf to you for authentication?

No. We are specialist buyers rather than an authentication service. We do fully authenticate all of the scarves we may be interested in buying before purchase but we do not offer this service to customers.​

What do you do with the scarves you buy?

We believe in giving scarves a second life.

​

We clean and refurbish those that can be worn again, find them new homes where possible and repurpose those that are beyond repair into other useful items. Our aim is to keep textiles in use and out of landfill.

What prices do you pay?

We look at the collection as a whole, including the makers, designs, age, condition and current demand for the scarves or our ability to repurpose them.

Every collection is assessed individually and we do not use standardised pricing when making offers for collections.

​

What happens if I don't accept your offer?

There is no obligation to accept our offer.

​

If you decide not to sell, we'll return your collection to you free of charge using tracked Royal Mail postage.

​

How does the free postage work?

If we'd like to see your collection, we'll send you a prepaid Royal Mail postage label or QR code.

​

Simply attach the label or save the QR code and take your parcel to a Royal Mail drop-off point. There is no postage cost to you.

​

Your collection is protected against loss or damage in transit up to £250.

​

What if I think my collection may be worth more than £250?
